This weekend is the Tip of the Thumb Heritage Water Trails 3rd Annual Festival. Rustic Camping is available for $25.00 per tent in Harbor Beach for Friday, September 11, 2009 & Saturday night also. The main events are on Saturday, September 12, 2009. We have sunrise paddles, group paddles, evening paddles, 11 - 3 p.m. Chili tasting in town, 9- Noon Coast Guard, 10 - 2 Free Kayak trials in the harbor, 10-4 Free tour & stair climb of the Pte. Aux Barques Lighthouse, 1 p.m. arts & crafts show at Murphy Museum, 1:30 p.m. Shipwreck Presentation, 2 p.m. Kayak Safety & Technique, 7 p.m. Contra Dancer, at dusk- Bonfire! The Spring 2008 Tip of The Thumb Heritage Water Trail event will start out in Harbor Beach again on Thursday, June 5th. The Paddlers can go on from there taking a Group PADDLE to Port Austin on Friday morning. The actual Tip of The Thumb Heritage Water Trail Festival will be in PORT AUSTIN at Waterfront Park (in town), June 6-8 with many new added events.
